Performance Pathway for Yorkshire Athletes.

Over the last few years, Yorkshire has been proud of all those girls who have progressed and developed through the academies, with several progressing unto the England Netball Performance Academy, becoming young 'England Roses' and had the honour of wearing the 'red dress' in representative age group competition.

England Netball (EN) has recognised the value of Yorkshire Netball's contribution to their vision to establish England as the Number 1 netball nation in the world. It has identified Yorkshire Netball as the leading body, agreeing to work in partnership and collaboratively to deliver EN's Performance Pathway Strategy 2017-21 in the region and/or until such a time a Super League Club Franchise is established in Yorkshire.

Yorkshire Netball believe it is vital to have a Super League Club in the region and will support efforts to achieve this. We know this will be echoed by many. Until then we will do all we can to ensure that our talented young athletes have the opportunity to access a high quality Performance Pathway Programme, which will be led by an EN appointed Academy Head Coach.

A huge amount of work has been done to ensure that the most effective pathway is in place and we are extremely grateful for all the valuable input and support received from our Counties who will continue to own performance programme of both County & Satellite Academies, which will underpin the Yorkshire programme.

The Yorkshire Netball Performance Pathway is aimed at high achieving 11 - 19 year old athletes who are identified as having the necessary talent and potential to perform at the highest level, aiming to make an impact on the national and ultimately the international netball scene. Athletes who are selected into the Yorkshire Netball Performance Pathway will have access to high quality coaching and sports specialists through regular training, performance camps and competition, all of which will take place in quality facilities that can meet the needs of the programme.

At the heart of our plan and central to the work we do is the development of the athletes selected into the programme. We welcome any interest from any individual or organisation who can support and develop any elements of the pathway. Building a strong Yorkshire netball community, where everyone, athletes, families, friend, supporters and sponsors, is pivotal in making both the Yorkshire Performance Pathway and the athletes involved the 'best they can be'
